The Sennheiser MD 421-II continues the tradition of one of Sennheiser’s most popular dynamic microphones — in continuous production for over 35 years and still the benchmark large-diaphragm dynamic cardioid for broadcast, studio, and live sound applications worldwide.

The large diaphragm dynamic element handles high sound pressure levels with ease, making it a natural choice for close-miking guitars, bass cabinets, and drums. The full-bodied cardioid pattern and pronounced directivity provide effective feedback rejection and consistent off-axis performance, while transparent sound reproduction suits broadcast announcers, group vocals, and wind instruments equally well.

The five-position bass roll-off switch is a key practical feature — allowing the MD 421-II to be tailored from full low-end response through to a progressively tighter response where proximity effect needs controlling. Rugged professional construction designed for decades of demanding use.
