The Eartec UltraLITE HD HUB is a professional-grade, licence-free wireless intercom system built around a portable DECT mini-base unit. Unlike a standard master/remote headset system, the HUB acts as a fixed or portable repeater — eliminating the risk of a master headset walking out of range and dropping the system.

Who is the UltraLITE HD HUB7S for?
Choose the UltraLITE HD HUB7S when you need seven users, full-duplex hands-free communication and dependable coverage across a defined working area. Its 1.9GHz operation can be an important consideration where customers prefer to avoid the more heavily used 2.4GHz band. The dedicated HUB also keeps the system’s central coverage in a fixed or chosen position.

Should I choose UltraLITE HD HUB7S or Pro16?
For a seven-user requirement, the practical choice is between the UltraLITE HD HUB7S and the Pro16 system. The HUB7S operates at 1.9GHz and is the better fit when that frequency, a defined working area and a dedicated central HUB are the priorities. It has a stated range of up to 300 yards line of sight, subject to terrain and conditions.

Pro16 is a different system architecture. It does not use a central HUB, supports up to 16 headsets and operates at 2.4GHz, not 1.9GHz. The supplied Pro16 specification lists a stated range of up to half a mile line of sight and up to 10 hours’ operation, so it may be the better choice when longer coverage or extended operating time matter most.

Compatibility note: UltraLITE HD and Pro16 are separate system families. Their headsets and system components are not interchangeable, so they cannot be mixed within one system.

If you need to connect a Pro16 system to an existing wired communications system, a separate interface box can be ordered for that purpose. The right choice therefore depends on the venue’s wireless environment, required range, working period and whether wired-system integration is needed, not simply the number of users.

With a conventional master-and-remote system, the person wearing the master headset can act as the system’s central link. If they are called away from the central working area, that link may move out of range with them. The HUB7S keeps the central point in a fixed or chosen position, so the team’s coverage stays with the HUB while the headset wearer steps away.

In practical terms, they can be called away, or take a short break, without taking the system’s central coverage with them.

Can multiple UltraLITE HD systems operate at the same site?
Eartec advises that up to 40 separate UltraLITE HUB-HD systems can operate within a 400-metre radius. This gives customers planning several separate teams useful manufacturer guidance for close-proximity deployments. For example, three separate UltraLITE HD systems fall within the stated system count. Actual performance can still depend on the building, layout and local radio environment.

Fast battery change
Because Eartec batteries charge separately in the charger, not in the headset, a flat battery can be swapped in seconds without losing headset pairing — ideal for long productions and back-to-back use.

Optional interface to existing wired intercom systems
The HUB can interface with most professional wired beltpack intercom systems including Clearcom, RTS, and Tecpro — ideal for productions with existing wired infrastructure.

Please note — High Noise Environments
The UltraLITE HD uses an integrated headset and cannot be used with ear defenders or alternative headsets. For high-noise environments requiring ear defenders with integrated comms, see our wired beltpack systems and our Altair Wireless Systems with XLR4F connectivity.
