Eartec UltraLITE Replacement Boom Arm (UL-BA)

The most common symptom that tells you this part needs replacing is sag — the arm no longer holds its position and droops away from the mouth. Even if the microphone capsule is still working perfectly, a sagging arm means the boom assembly needs to be replaced.

Adjusting the boom arm position: The arm can be rotated to sit at the right angle for the wearer. Always rotate up and over — never down and under. Rotating down and under breaks the internal stop mechanism. There is no repair for a broken stop — it means a full headset replacement. This is the single most common cause of avoidable damage to UltraLITE headsets. If you are issuing these headsets to crew, make sure everyone knows this before they touch them.

Reversing the boom arm from one ear to the other: The UltraLITE boom arm can be configured for either left or right ear wear, but switching sides is a complex workshop job — not an onsite quick fix. It requires removing the PCB for access, fitting the retaining rings and sprung washers back in the correct order and orientation, ensuring the locking ring seats over the notch, and carefully managing the Molex connector and switch wire throughout. Pulling the PCB too far back risks detaching the switch wire, which requires resoldering. Cables must be routed carefully on reassembly to avoid pinching. Photograph everything before you start and at each stage. This work should only be carried out by a suitably qualified technician — or contact us to arrange assessment and repair.
