The WBS202HD is Altair's top-of-range HD wireless intercom base station, supporting up to 8 wireless beltpacks from a single 1U rack unit. Designed for larger productions, permanent venue installations, and any application where a full crew needs to stay connected on a single intercom channel.

Integrated wired and wireless — no interface unit required

Unlike systems that bolt on wired connectivity as an afterthought via an external interface unit, the WBS202HD has a dedicated internal wired intercom interface built in — no external interface unit, no additional hardware, no initialisation. Connect directly to your existing wired intercom infrastructure alongside your wireless beltpacks. The WBS202HD also powers up to 20 wired beltpacks via XLR — a significant capacity for hybrid installations.

Perfect for venues and productions that need wireless flexibility at front-of-house while retaining wired reliability backstage.

8 wireless users from a single base station

Support up to 8 WBP210HD Extreme or WBP200HD Compact beltpacks on a single intercom channel. Need more? Link multiple WBS202HD units together in slave mode to expand coverage and user capacity across larger sites.

Antennas

Two antennas included, screwing directly onto the front panel SMA connectors — quick to fit, no tools required. For installations where the base station is located in a rack below stage level or in an equipment room with limited line-of-sight to beltpacks, an optional external antenna is available to optimise coverage.

Compatible with existing wired intercom systems

The WBS202HD's built-in wired interface connects directly to existing party line intercom systems via XLR. It is compatible with Tecpro systems and will power Tecpro wired beltpacks from the same unit. RTS two-wire systems can be connected on the intercom line, however the WBS202HD will not power RTS beltpacks directly. Please contact us to confirm compatibility with your existing system before purchase.

Operates on the 1.9GHz DECT band — no licence required for use in the UK.

⚠️ Installer note: when connecting the WBS202HD to an existing powered wired intercom system, the termination switch on the base station must be set to unterminated. Two terminated power supplies on the same intercom line will cause audio level problems.
