Why the Extreme beltpack?

The WBP210HD Extreme is Altair's flagship beltpack — built for demanding live production environments. Bigger illuminated buttons, colour display, keyboard lock, and a robust design that stands up to the rigours of touring and rental use. The standard XLR4F headset socket opens up compatibility with a wide range of professional broadcast headsets.

The value argument

The Extreme beltpack uses a standard XLR4F headset connector, making it compatible with cost-effective professional broadcast headsets like the Superlux HMD685A included in this kit. The saving on headsets across the full kit largely offsets the higher cost of the Extreme beltpack over the entry-level Compact — making this a genuinely strong value proposition at the professional level.

Battery — production insurance

15 hours full duplex from the built-in Li-Ion battery. Charges via USB or the included 4-way charger. AA emergency battery compartment keeps you on comms if the main battery depletes mid-show.

Range

Typical 50–350m around the base station. Licence-free 1.9GHz DECT band — no licence required for use in the UK.
